I cannot log into Blackboard
Your username/password for Blackboard@FSU are identical to your e-mail account. This account is known as your "Frostburg credentials". If you do not know your username & password or believe you have forgotten your password contact the FSU Help Desk (301-687-7777).
I am having trouble viewing the entire page of Blackboard
You may wish to adjust your screen resolution following our screen resolution help page.
Blackboard doesn't load or work properly for me
Your computer configuration may not meet the minimum requirements for using Blackboard, check your configuration using our Requirements and Recommendations Check.
How do I change my password?
Contact the FSU Help Desk (301-687-7777) or use FSU's password change page. NOTE: This will change your password for email, PeopleSoft/PAWS and the FSU network in addition to Blackboard.
Filename usage
Students should not include the '#' symbol in any filenames. These files are not able to be opened by the instructor. Please do not use this symbol in filenames.
Students:
A course I am enrolled in is not showing up, how do I view it?
Check with the instructor of the course to verify you are enrolled. Additionally, check with the business office and make sure no flags exist on your account.
I am having problems posting messages on the discussion board and/or sending e-mail through Blackboard
Students experiencing problems posting messages on the discussion board and/or sending e-mail through blackboard should disable any pop-up blockers and turn off the Visual Text Editor in Blackboard (instructions on how to turn this off).
Some discussion board messages are not visible (have disappeared)
Students using Internet Explorer 7 may experience problems using the discussion board. It is recommended that all Internet Explorer 7 users follow the IE7 steps to configure their computer

How do I combine (collapse) courses?
You must use PAWS to combine or collapse any courses into a single, multiple enrollment, course. Please see this PDF for instructions.
How do I make my course visible?
By default all courses are not visible, once you've configured your course just how you want it you can make it visible. Please follow these steps to make the course visible.
How long will my courses stay on Blackboard?
Courses will remain in the system for three semesters after a course has ended. So if a course was offered during Spring 2005 it would be removed from the Bb system at the beginning of Spring 2007. Keep this in mind when either Archiving or doing a Course Copy.
How do I change the role of a user/student/participant in my course?
Instructors do not have the ability to add/remove users and/or change user roles within Blackboard. If you have a need for this type of request, please email CIT at cit@frostburg.edu.
What do I do if I need to get my course materials from a Bb course that was cancelled due to under enrollment?

How do I make course materials available to a student even though the course is over/closed?
Students can access their Blackboard courses for 6 weeks after the end of the semester (unless the course is manually set to 'unavailable' by the instructor). If a student needs access to material after that time, please contact CIT at cit@frostburg.edu.
